Nord Pool

The Nordic exchange Nord Pool, based in Lysaker, offers access to one of the largest carbon markets in Europe with the possibility of trading European Union Allowances (EUAs) and Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) in the forward and spot markets.

Nord Pool as the first exchange offered trading in EUAs and CERs. On February 11, 2005, the exchange introduced the EUA forward contract and on June 1, 2007, the CER forward contract. Since October 24, 2005, the exchange offers the EUA spot contract and since November 20, 2009, the CER spot contract.

The Nord Pool exchange has more than 100 members who trade in its carbon market.
